Morgan’s Caregiver to Branch Manager Journey
Morgan often says she “grew up with Family Resource Home Care,” and when you hear her story, you understand exactly what she means. She began her career at just 18 after completing a CNA course in high school and connecting with Trina, who was then a Branch Manager and is now Director of Operations. When Morgan started working as a caregiver, she immediately felt at home in this work. “I fell in love,” she shared, explaining that working in a facility felt like a sprint, while home care offered something deeper and more meaningful. That first chapter laid the foundation for her caregiver to Branch Manager journey.
Like many professionals, Morgan briefly stepped away in 2020 during COVID, but her heart never left home care. She returned in 2022 as a Caregiver Manager and found joy in supporting the people who were directly supporting clients. “I loved that role because I was able to take care of the caregivers who could take care of our clients,” she reflected. Her caregiver to Branch Manager journey continued as she moved into the Client Care Supervisor role in 2024, where she lit up again being face-to-face with families and clients: “I loved getting to do assessments and talk to people in person again.”
Her growth didn’t stop there. Morgan went on to serve in a combined Client Care Manager role (Caregiver Manager + Client Care Supervisor duties) supporting both Lewiston/Clarkston Valley and Palouse/Moscow branches, sharpening every skill she would eventually need as a leader. By 2025, after years of dedication, learning, and perseverance, she achieved her dream and stepped into the Branch Manager role for both locations. “I’ve been with Family Resource Home Care for my entire adult life, and I love it… I planned on nursing school, but life took me here, and I wouldn’t change it.” That passion and commitment are at the heart of her caregiver to Branch Manager journey.
Leading With Experience, Heart, and Humility
What makes Morgan’s leadership so meaningful is that she’s lived the work as a caregiver herself. “I know where they are and what their jobs entail,” she says. She remembers what support meant when she was in their shoes, and she strives to “follow in the footsteps of leaders before me… then add some of my own spice.” The extra time she spent learning operations during the Client Care Manager role prepared her to be confident, grounded, and ready — another defining element of her caregiver to Branch Manager journey.
For clients, Morgan emphasizes compassion, dignity, and understanding. “Home care is very personal and intimate,” she explains. “We’re going into someone’s home who’s been fiercely independent.” Her goal is simple and powerful: help people age with support and remain at home whenever possible. For caregivers, her advice is rooted in empathy: “Give grace while clients transition. Show compassion, be empathetic, and put yourself in their shoes.”
Lessons Learned, Moments Cherished, and a Future of Hope
Ask Morgan about memories, and she lights up instantly. She remembers every client she cared for. She remembers being taught life skills, like how to sew a button. She remembers reading postcards in Italian for a client who couldn’t see well — and that client then helped her with pronunciation. “These experiences are so touching,” she says. “Home care is unique. No other job lets you sit down, learn from people, and build relationships like this.” These deeply human experiences are also what fueled her caregiver to Branch Manager journey.
Morgan says her Branch Manager role was once the dream — and now that she’s here, she’s excited to keep dreaming even bigger. She is proud to continue building strong branches, supporting her team, caring for clients, and honoring the leaders who inspired her while becoming a leader for others.
