Light Housekeeping

If your senior loved one needs help maintaining the household, Family Resource Home Care housekeeping services can provide a home environment that is comfortable, clean, safe, and healthy. Family Resource is not a dedicated cleaning service, but our housekeeping services do include: laundry, bed making and linen changes, dusting, vacuuming, and floor care (sweeping/mopping), cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, taking out the trash, watering plants, and help with organizational projects.

Family Resource Home Care provides quality Housekeeping Services

In survey after survey, over 90% of seniors say they want to remain at home as they age. However, many seniors find they have increasing difficulty performing basic household chores. If your senior loved one needs help maintaining the household, Family Resource Home Care’s Housekeeping services can provide a home environment that is comfortable, clean, safe, and healthy.

Help with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)

Family Resource is not a dedicated cleaning service, but our housekeeping services do include:

  • Laundry
  • Bed making and linen changes
  • Dusting, vacuuming, and floor care (sweeping/mopping)
  • Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen
  • Taking out the trash
  • Watering plants
  • Help with organizational projects
  • Pet care

Housekeeping is part of the larger category of tasks called “Instrumental Activities of Daily Living,” (IADLs). IADLs are the complex skills needed to manage daily life, which allow us to live independently. In addition to the housekeeping tasks listed above, Family Resource Home Care provides help with the following IADLs:

  • Transportation (driving, or navigating public transit)
  • Errands and shopping
  • Preparing meals
  • Using the telephone, computer, television, and other devices

IADLs are distinguished from ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). ADLs are personal care or self-care tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking, and are learned much earlier in life than IADLs. At Family Resource Home Care, you can find services related to ADLs in the category of Personal Care Services.

Family Resource’s Housekeeping Services keep seniors safe and healthy in their own home

The team at Family Resource Home Care is committed to providing the best quality Housekeeping Services to keep seniors active and independent. Our caregivers are experienced and highly qualified and offer attentive and caring help.

How do you establish Housekeeping Services?

At Family Resource Home Care, we start by listening.

Housekeeping services are usually combined with other services offered by Family Resource Home Care, such as Companion Care and Personal Care Assistance. We will come to your home for a comprehensive in-home assessment to help choose which Housekeeping services are appropriate for your family. Every client and family is different and has their own story to tell about what is important and what their needs are.

Based on the conversation we have with you, together with our own observations of the home environment, we will develop a detailed and personalized care plan tailor-made for you and your family. Because household tasks for many families can seem endless, your family and our client care supervisor will decide on the number of hours per week our caregiver should spend on Housekeeping services. When we write the care plan, the Housekeeping services section will detail the tasks our caregiver will accomplish during each shift.

  • Should the floors be mopped every visit?
  • How do you like your laundry done?
  • Are there special instructions for taking care of the kitchen or any particular items around the house?

We will then assign a wonderful caregiver matched to the needs of your loved one, and start service.

Every Family Resource caregiver is trained, and have their own insured vehicle to escort your senior loved one to appointments, shopping, and social outings. We only work with caregivers who are genuinely kind and care about their clients.

The Family Resource professionals work hard to make sure your loved one is pleased with their care and adjust the care plan or caregivers as necessary. If the caregiver, senior, or family ever has any questions, supervisors are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
