Becca’s journey began when she and her significant other moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in August 2023. She quickly found a caregiving position at the Spokane/North Idaho Branch of Family Resource Home Care that resonated with her morals and ethical compass. Her personal connection to the medical field, driven by her brother’s Guillain-Barre condition, fueled her passion for caregiving. “I went to school for dental hygiene,” Becca shared. “I started as a caregiver immediately after moving and loved my clients. I connected with them really well.”
After just 2-3 months with Family Resource Home Care, Becca’s dedication and leadership skills were evident, leading her to apply for the Lead Caregiver position. She embraced her role as a lead, always ready to assist and support her team whenever needed. When the opportunity for the Talent Acquisition Coordinator position arose, Becca saw it as a chance to further grow within Family Resouorce Home Care. “Michelle, Spokane/North Idaho Branch Manager supported me to apply for the position, and Bailee, Director of Talent Acquisition reached out to me via LinkedIn,” she recalled. Her close bond with her grandparents and great-grandparents, coupled with being one of eight siblings, equipped her with valuable caregiving skills. “Me having that close bond with my grandparents and great-grandparents has helped me navigate client relationships being kind and independent and heard,” Becca added.
Guiding Caregivers with Empathy and Insight
Transitioning from a caregiver to a Talent Acquisition Coordinator has provided Becca with unique insights into the day-to-day challenges and rewards of caregiving. Her experience as a Lead Caregiver allowed her to gain navigational knowledge that she now uses to support and guide caregivers under her supervision. “With being a Lead Caregiver, I was able to dip my toes into AxisCare,” Becca explained. AxisCare is the EMR system that Family Resource Home Care uses. She emphasized the importance of finding the right personality fit for caregiving roles, noting that first impressions are crucial for success. “The caring and enthusiastic people are those that we need to help our clients,” she stated.

When it comes to maintaining healthy relationships with clients, Becca believes that setting boundaries is essential. “One thing I’ve noticed is that setting healthy boundaries is always important, no matter what relationship, but especially with clients,” she advised. Dealing with clients who may struggle mentally and emotionally requires caregivers to show positivity and redirect their train of thought. Becca’s advice serves as a reminder that compassion and understanding, combined with clear boundaries, are key to providing exceptional care.
