Though naturally shy, Cindy’s actions and dedication speak volumes about her commitment to both clients and caregivers.
A New Chapter in Salem
Cindy never imagined herself in caregiving until she took the leap. “I loved helping people,” she shared. “This was my first time being a caregiver, and I really enjoyed it.” For two years, she dedicated herself to supporting clients, ensuring they received the care and comfort they needed. When the Client Care Supervisor position opened, she saw an opportunity to make an even greater impact.
“I felt like this was a good fit,” she said. “As a caregiver, I helped people one-on-one, but in this role, I can help even more people.” Her experience in the field gives her a unique perspective, allowing her to connect with both caregivers and clients in a way that fosters trust and understanding.
Cindy Bridging the Language Gap
One of Cindy’s strengths in her new role is her ability to speak both Spanish and English. She is the only Spanish-speaking staff member in the Salem Branch, which she sees as an important way to support the local community. “I feel like I can help the office better understand Spanish-speaking clients,” she explained. Being bilingual allows her to bridge communication gaps and ensure that families receive the best care possible. It also gives caregivers who speak Spanish someone they can turn to for support and guidance.

Cindy’s hands-on experience as a caregiver gives her deep insight into the challenges and rewards of the profession. “I know what is going on with clients and caregivers because I’ve been there,” she said. “That helps me understand the dynamic better and offer solutions.”
She is committed to advocating for both caregivers and clients, ensuring that everyone feels heard and supported. Her firsthand knowledge allows her to approach her role with empathy, offering advice that comes from experience rather than just policy.
