A Heart for Olympia Washington Home Care

Terri Carrillo’s story is one of compassion, growth, and a lifelong dedication to serving others. Before joining Family Resource Home Care in Olympia, WA, as a Client Care Supervisor, she had a long history of caregiving—supporting her adult child, caring for her elderly mother, and working in private care and adult family homes. These experiences gave her firsthand insight into care plans, compliance, and the deeply personal relationships between caregivers and clients.

She believes that home care is an amazing opportunity for those in need—whether a little or a lot of care—to improve or maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own home.

Building on a Strong Foundation

Terri’s professional background has uniquely prepared her for her new role as a Client Care Supervisor. As a certified medical assistant, she understands medical terminology, body systems, and pharmacology, which allows her to better evaluate assessments and care plans. In addition, her time as a small business owner gave her valuable skills in networking, marketing, and client management.

She explains that her business experience taught her the importance of honesty and accountability: “I learned not to take on clients if I couldn’t meet their needs. That perspective helps me now as a Client Care Supervisor—always keeping care plans realistic and compliant.”

Inspired by the Olympia Team

Terri’s move from caregiver to administration was inspired by the Olympia branch itself. After attending caregiver training, she was struck by how professional and supportive the office staff were. She remembers thinking that if there were ever an opening in administration, she wanted to be part of that team. When the Branch Manager called to offer her the Client Care Supervisor role, she knew it was the perfect fit.

Supporting Clients and Caregivers

With her blended experience, Terri is ready to support both clients and caregivers in the Olympia Washington home care community. For clients, she emphasizes that home care allows families to stay safe and comfortable at home while receiving the right level of support.

For caregivers, she stresses the value of commitment: “The caregiver role becomes part of the client’s daily life and family. Don’t take the position if you don’t want to be part of that. Clients feel it deeply when a caregiver comes and goes.”

She also encourages caregivers to anticipate needs, like preparing extra meals or checking calendars for appointments, and to leave their ego at the door: “When we walk into a client’s home, it’s their life we are entering. Interpersonal relationships are so much better when we approach them with humility.”

Life Beyond Work

Outside of her professional role, Terri enjoys gardening, cooking, and craft projects. She’s passionate about learning, reading, and exploring topics like business and politics—qualities that mirror her curiosity and drive for growth.

Strengthening Olympia Washington Home Care

At Family Resource Home Care, Terri’s journey from caregiver to Client Care Supervisor demonstrates the strength and dedication behind Olympia Washington home care. Her blend of compassion, medical knowledge, and leadership will continue to support caregivers and ensure clients receive the highest quality in-home support.

She sums it up best: “Caregivers play one of the most valuable roles in a client’s life—and I want to make sure they know just how important they are.”
