Finding Her Calling in Caregiving

Letty’s journey into caregiving wasn’t something she originally planned, but once she stepped into the role, she knew she had found her calling. She began her career in Idaho as a caregiver before transitioning to a med-tech position for seven years. When she moved to Pendleton, she took on the role of a resident care coordinator, further solidifying her passion for helping others.

In 2020, she discovered Family Resource Home Care and immediately felt drawn to the personalized aspect of in-home care. “I loved it right away,” she recalls. “It felt like home, like the place I was meant to be.” She was hired on the same day she applied, and from that moment, she knew she had found a company whose values truly aligned with her own.

Letty Growing into Leadership

Letty thrived as a caregiver at Family Resource Home Care, working with long-term clients who showed her the true impact of in-home care. She saw firsthand how much Family Resource Home Care valued its clients, which inspired her to take on more responsibility. When a Client Care Supervisor position opened up, she jumped at the opportunity. “I wanted to advocate for the needs and wants of our clients,” she says. “Being able to match the right caregiver with the right client, making sure families could go back to just being families instead of full-time caretakers—that was incredibly rewarding.”

For two years, Letty poured her heart into the Client Care Supervisor role. She found joy in setting up care plans, supporting veterans, and problem-solving alongside families and caregivers. When the Branch Manager role opened up, it felt like the natural next step. “I love Family Resource Home Care. This is my long-term career. I knew I had more to offer—not just to our clients, but to our caregivers as well. I wanted to help my team succeed and grow.”

Leading with Experience and Heart

Letty’s experience as a hands-on caregiver gives her a unique perspective as a Branch Manager. “I believe leadership means being willing to jump in when needed,” she says. She still does client intakes and remains actively involved in day-to-day operations. “It’s important to stay grounded. If my team needs me, I’m there. That’s what makes us strong—we’re all in this together.”

Her leadership philosophy is simple: guide, support, and push her team in the right direction. She understands the challenges caregivers face because she’s been there herself. “Sometimes all caregivers need is a little extra support, someone who believes in them. I love being that person for them.”

Advice for Caregivers and Clients

Letty believes caregiving isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. “It takes a special heart to do this work,” she says. “You have to be kind, compassionate, and treat every client like family.”

For clients, she emphasizes that Family Resource Home Care is more than just a service. “A lot of companies can offer care, but we offer family. It’s in our name—Family Resource Home Care. Our family keeps growing, and we’re here for you like one of our own.”
