Family Resource Home Care provides personalized, non-medical in-home care that helps older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. With locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Colorado, our team is committed to providing dependable support that meets each client where they are.

Supporting those who have served is an important part of that mission. Family Resource Home Care is passionate about helping veterans and their families access the care, resources, and support they have earned. That is why we have a dedicated Veterans Outreach Team focused on helping veterans understand their options, navigate available VA resources, and connect with personalized care.

One of the key members of that team is our Veterans Outreach Specialist Eric Nava.

Veterans Outreach Specialist for ID, WA & OR

Eric brings a unique combination of personal and professional experience to his work with veterans. As a veteran himself, he understands firsthand the importance of supporting those who have served and the unique needs veterans and their families may have.

After his military service, Eric spent eight years with the Department of Veterans Affairs, helping veterans and their families access resources and support across California, Arizona, and Nevada. Through this experience, he developed extensive knowledge of veteran services and the VA system. Eric later led operations for an end-of-life law firm, where he supported individuals and families navigating complex care and planning decisions. He brings this experience, along with a master’s degree in organizational leadership, to his work advocating for veterans and their families.

For Eric, helping veterans is more than understanding the VA system. It is about listening to each veteran, understanding their individual circumstances, and helping them identify resources and care options that fit their needs.

Helping Veterans Navigate Care at Home

Understanding VA benefits and home care options can be challenging. Eric and Family Resource Home Care’s Veterans Outreach Team are here to help veterans and their families navigate available resources, understand eligibility, and access the support available to them.

Our Veterans Outreach Team can:

  • Help veterans and families understand VA home care benefits
  • Provide guidance on eligibility and available support options
  • Assist with navigating the VA care process
  • Connect veterans with local resources and programs

Once care needs are identified, Family Resource Home Care can provide flexible, personalized support designed around the veteran’s individual routines and goals, such as:

  • Provide care services wherever a veteran calls home
  • Offer flexible care plans that can change as needs change
  • Provide dependable support with no long-term contracts

In-Home Care Benefits for Veterans

Based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, there are approximately 19 million veterans aged 18 and older in the United States, including about 13 million who are age 50 or older. As veterans age, many want to remain independent and continue living safely and comfortably at home. Extra help with everyday activities can make that possible. Veterans who have been honorably discharged may have access to benefits such as in-home care assistance

Eligible veterans and their spouses may also qualify for VA programs that can help pay for in-home care, including Community Care Network (CCN), VA Aid and Attendance, and Housebound Allowance. Family Resource Home Care’s Veteran Outreach Team is here to assist veterans and their families who want to learn more about eligibility or available in-home care benefits.
