At the Yakima Branch, we are proud to have an exceptional team of caregivers who go above and beyond every day to ensure the well-being of our clients. We are thrilled to announce that one of our dedicated caregivers, Inireda (Indy) Espinoza, has been honored with the Lifesaver Award for her heroic actions that undoubtedly saved a life.
A Keen Eye and Quick Thinking
Recently, while working with one of our private clients, Indy noticed that something was amiss. The client, who is usually active and alert, was unusually lethargic, confused, and not moving around as per normal. Trusting her instincts and professional training, Indy immediately reached out to the client’s family and alerted them to the situation. She also called 911 while waiting for the family to arrive, ensuring that emergency services were on their way.
A Life-Saving Intervention from Indy
When the family arrived, they found the client in a critical condition. Thanks to Indy’s quick actions, the client was rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered that he had dangerously low blood pressure (65/30), low blood sugar, and a low respiration rate. The doctors confirmed that without Indy’s prompt intervention, the client might not have survived the night.
Gratitude and Professionalism
The client’s sister expressed immense gratitude for Indy’s professionalism, knowledge, and quick thinking. She shared how deeply moved she was by Indy’s actions, even shedding tears as she recounted the event. The family credits Indy with saving their loved one’s life and is incredibly thankful for the support and care provided by our team.
A True Hero in Our Community
We are incredibly proud of Indy and her dedication to her clients. Her actions exemplify the commitment and compassion that we strive for in our caregivers. While the client is now in a local rehabilitation center, the family remains grateful for the lifesaving care Indy provided.
Please join us in congratulating Indy Espinoza on her well-deserved Lifesaver Award and for being a true hero in our community.
