We were founded in Spokane, WA over 50 years ago, making us the oldest home care agency in the country. We are still family-owned and operate on the principle that our employees are our family – it’s in our name.

Family Resource Home Care is founded in Seattle by David Lawrence
2008
Jeff Wiberg, our Founder, starts with Family Home Care in Spokane as HR Director.
2011
Jeff Wiberg becomes President and CEO of Family Home Care.
2013
The previous owner sells Family Home Care to the Wiberg family. The headquarters move to Liberty Lake, WA.
2015
Family Home Care purchases Independent Services Corporation to expand its home care business.
2016
Family Home Care earns its fourth Best Place to Work Award and acquires At-Home Care, an agency with operations in Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Boise
2018
“Family Home Care (Spokane)” merges with “Family Resource Home Care (Seattle)” to form the largest home care agency in Washington State. They choose the name Family Resource Home Care. Jeff Wiberg becomes CEO of the merged company.
2019
In 2019, another respected home care agency, Cascade In Home Care chose to join us based on our reputation.
2020
Family Resource Home Care is recognized as among the top 5% of independent home care agencies in the country by size and survives the COVID pandemic without laying off a single employee or shutting down at any time – a testament to our commitment to our employees and clients.
2021
In 2021, two of the longest-running home care agencies in Oregon – Adeo In Home Care and Helping Hands Home Care – became part of our family.
2022
In 2022, we strategically expanded our reach by including additional locations in Skagit, Whatcom, and Island Counties, as well as in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley, to better serve the community.
2023
In 2023, we achieved a significant milestone by acquiring Companion Care Inc., a home care agency in Woodinville. Notably, we retained each employee from Companion Care Inc., seamlessly transitioning them to become valuable members of the Family Resource Home Care team following the acquisition.

In 2024, Jeff Wiberg transitions from CEO to Founder and Hector Barragan moves into the CEO role from the COO role.

Family Resource Home Care purchases Sepecialty Service Solutions, LLC. in Moses Lake, Washington.

In 2024, we strategically expanded our reach by including additional locations in Medford, Silverdale, Longview, Roseburg, Puyallup, and Aberdeen, to better serve the community.

Family Resource Home Care grows into a fourth state by purchasing Reliable Home Care in Denver, Colorado.

At the start of 2025, Family Resource Home Care continues growing by acquiring Home Care Heroes in Gresham, Oregon, and Beneficial In-Home Care which has six locations in Spokane, Colville, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Pullman, Omak in Washington.

Family Resource Home Care is strategically expanding our reach with new locations in Grants Pass and Airway Heights, enhancing our ability to serve communities across Washington, Oregon, and Colorado.
While our headquarters is still in the Spokane area, we are a regional company that plans to continue to grow. Why? Because the bigger our scale, the better benefits, resources, and stability we can offer to our employees.
Our track record of success and reputation led us to be sought out by a national investment partner, who wanted to support our continued growth. This means in the coming years, we will be able to continue to improve our services, expand our footprint and serve even more clients with compassion and dignity.
