A comprehensive connection to community services for seniors and caregivers. Senior Information and Assistance Advocates access a computerized database of over 7,000 community services. They can provide information on a number of available services for seniors in King County, including: Case Management, Chore services, Counseling, Employment, Health Care, Home Repairs, Housing, Legal Services, Nutrition Programs and Transportation. Professional staff will provide you with accurate information, direct you to the appropriate agency or contact the agency on your behalf, arrange home visits if you have intensive needs, and follow up to make sure that you have received the help you need.

Non-profit adult day health care agency. Provides day care to seniors as an alternative to placement into a nursing home. A range of activities includes exercise programs, a catered lunch, and discussion groups (“including spiritual discussion”). ElderHealth is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for frail elders and people with chronic or terminal illnesses and disabilities. We are committed, through our program of health and social services, to the independence and well-being of all participants and to providing respite for caregivers.

The Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens provides a variety of programs and services for older people and people with disabilities in the Seattle-King County area. Most of the services and assistance can be provided over the telephone.

Seattle Personal Transit

Seattle Personal Transit (SPT) provides transportation to those individuals who are unable to ride the fixed-route buses. Drivers are trained to provide door-to-door and curb-to-curb service for people using wheelchairs and those needing a greater level of assistance. This service is available seven days a week from 5:00 a.m. until midnight. For general information about SPT, call 206-860-8000.

Over 350 volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to transport seniors to medical and other essential appointments, offering not only a ride, but a helping hand and moral support.
