Olga ZakharovWhat I Do

My job is to ensure that clients are charged for service properly and fairly. And I work hard to relieve our clients of all the burdens of managing caregiver time and worrying about insurance, taxes, government compliance – even how to handle the insurance bill.

Why home care.

I was a database programmer for 19 years in Russia, my native country. When I came to the U.S., I volunteered for nine months with the National Kidney Foundation of Oregon and Washington in Redmond. Working for NKF, I found out how many people need help because of their health problems. For example, many need transportation to weekly medical procedures, and family members need professional help and emotional relief to ensure that their loved one has good care.

My favorite client story.

On a busy morning in 2006, the husband of a dying woman who was not our client called for emergency help. He needed a caregiver to come in and stay as long as his wife would live. Laura and Trish did their best – they called caregivers who have appropriate experience and personal skills. After more than an hour of calls, they found two caregivers who rearranged their visits to other clients, changed their personal plans, and were willing to go to Puyallup and stay as long as necessary.
