What I Do
I am responsible for the accounting, budgeting, and benefits functions at Family Resource Home Care. I also assist with IT and supervise a staff of two accounting assistants. I spend a good deal of my time working with long term care insurance companies on behalf of our clients.
I and my support team work hard to ensure that our clients and caregivers receive the service they deserve from the accounting department. This can sometimes be a challenge due to the nature of our client base and the diversity of our caregiver pool, but we always take the time to make sure their needs are met.
Why Home Care
I answered an ad for a controller and came to work for Family Resource Home Care in February of 2002. Prior to that time I had acquired experience in accounting with an office machines company, a TV station, and a TV advertising and production company.
One of the aspects I enjoy most about working in the home care field is working with our clients. I feel I can really be of help to them, especially when dealing with their long-term care insurance companies.
My Favorite Client Story
My favorite client experience is finally having a long term care insurance company pay a claim after a long and protracted process. This happens quite frequently and is especially rewarding.
