Dorene Robbins, Lead Caregiver
What I do.
I’m the lead caregiver for Family Resource Home Care. If a caregiver calls in because they’re sick or have a family emergency, or wants some time off for another reason, I’ll go and see that client. I have a CNA and a lot of caregiving experience. When I go into a home I go in with a lot of confidence so usually the client is very comfortable in knowing I can take care of them. I also do a lot of caregiver training in the home.
Why home care
I believe I went into caregiving because both my father and my brother
were terminally ill. From my experiences with my family members I
decided I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I feel good
when I see the excitement on my client’s face when they see me coming.
They know that emotionally and physically I’ll take care of them. I’m
easy to talk to and I treat them pretty much as I would my own family
member. Sometimes I think I get too attached to my clients.
On a personal note
I have four kids and we like to go check out new parks, new lakes and rivers for fishing. We love to go camping. We’re always doing something outdoors when time permits.
