Kajsa Anderson, Staffing Supervisor

Katie AndertonWhat I Do

I am responsible for making sure all of our clients have caregivers at the times they are needed. I also make sure that their caregivers have appropriate skills for the clients needs and their presence brings comfort both socially and medically. Client needs can change on a daily basis and I respond to those changing needs immediately. As a social worker, I listen to concerns from both caregiver and client and provide clients and families with peace of mind in knowing someone will be taking care of their loved one 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I really like playing a key role in bringing new caregivers to our team. I often am the one who talks to new caregiver applicants and sees who might be a good fit for Family Resource.

We truly have a passion for helping our clients and always making good on our promises, big or small. I enjoy working for a company where every employee contributes to the business everyday and each client is cared for by everyone. I like that problems can always be brought to the table and be resolved using a team approach.

Why Home Care

I’ve  been a staffing supervisor for Family Resource Home Care since February 2009. I  received my degree in Social Work from University of Washington in 2008. That summer I went to Malawi, Africa and worked with impoverished families and individuals with HIV/AIDS.  Because of my experiences helping people, I wanted my career to be focused on caring for those in need.

My Favorite Client Story

We had a couple who used a Family Resource Home Care caregiver to help with care surrounding the wife's multiple sclerosis. The woman suddenly passed away ast year in an accident, and her husband was left heart-broken. He contacted us a few months later to set up service for himself one day a week for housekeeping and companionship purposes. My fellow staffing supervisor and I really care about this client and wanted to find the perfect match for him. Therefore, we sent one of our most compassionate, skilled, and reliable caregivers to meet him. This gentleman said immediately that she wonderful.

In the months since then, we have had multiple conversations with this gentleman whereby he has raved about this caregiver and told us that she is the best thing that has happened to him in a long time! It is always good to hear such great feedback.
