Memories continue to be made when you stay in your home.

The Story of Family Resource Home Care: Family Resource Home Care began in 1996 as David Lawrence sought a way to provide seniors and their families a path through the maze of eldercare choices. Through our experience helping families deal with the emotional and practical complexities that often accompanies aging, we saw the growing need for home care services based on a social services, not medical model. This led us to change our name and our focus. We became Family Resource Home Care in 2000. This is when Sheila McKannay joined us, bringing her depth of experience.

Since then, Family Resource has experienced steady growth. In 2004, we added branch offices in Bellevue and Tacoma to better serve clients on the Eastside and in Pierce County. In 2006 we moved our main office to the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle.

As the option of professional Home Care has evolved and grown, David Lawrence has been a leader as one of Washington State’s first members of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers. David continues to provide leadership as a founding board member of the Washington Private Duty Association and currently serves as President. He is an advisory board member of the University of Washington’s Certificate Program in Gerontology. David continues to be a “hands-on” owner and CEO, helping grow Family Resource Home Care to be the largest provider of private duty home care in Washington State.

Over the years Family Resource Home Care has evolved to meet the needs of our clients. But the fact that we are a family-oriented business committed to caring and respect—for each other, for our clients and for their families has never wavered. We believe our growth and success is a tribute to the care and attention we give to each client and each employee.
